Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German television and film actress famous for her performance in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the sole child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At sixteen, she had obtained a few television appearances, including the lead role in the movie Downfall Youth With No Youth Control. Her highly acclaimed performance on the television film made for TV Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that in the role of Hitler's Secretary Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially popular Oscar nominated historic war drama film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films that feature this beautiful diva. Alexandra is involved in many notable projects, in both the US and abroad. The projects she worked on include those of the British biographical Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time and as the French Historical Miniseries Napoleon. In addition, she was a member of the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
